Assessment of Streamflow Simulation for a Tropical Forested Catchment Using Dynamic TOPMODEL—Dynamic fluxEs and ConnectIvity for Predictions of HydRology (DECIPHeR) Framework and Generalized Likelihood Uncertainty Estimation (GLUE)

Rainfall runoff modeling has been a subject of interest for decades due to need understand catchment system management, example regarding extreme event occurrences such as flooding. Tropical catchments are particularly prone the hazards precipitation and internal drivers change in system, deforestation land use change. A model framework dynamic TOPMODEL, DECIPHeR v1—considering flexibility, modularity, portability—and Generalized Likelihood Uncertainty Estimation (GLUE) method both used this study. They reveal performance streamflow simulation tropical catchment, i.e., Kelantan River Malaysia, that is flooding experiences high rates Thirty-two years’ continuous at daily time scale along with uncertainty analysis resulted Nash Sutcliffe Efficiency (NSE) score 0.42 from highest ranked parameter set, while 25.35% measurement falls within boundary based on behavioral threshold NSE 0.3. The behavior suggests limited ability represent low flow regime. In contrast, eight peak events achieves moderate good fit, four returning an > 0.5. Nonetheless, scatter plot analyses indicate unidentifiability all parameters. This may be attributable scale. results demand further investigation heterogeneity parameters calibration multiple scales.
